My heart is saddened tonight about what has happened at an elementary
school in Connecticut. After I heard
about it, I didn’t want to hear or talk about it anymore. I can only imagine that you parents feel the
same way. I couldn’t help but think of my
own class when I found out what happened.
I don’t really want to talk too much about it. I just need you parents to know how much I care
about your children. I know any teacher
in that kind of situation would have done anything to protect their students. I love being a teacher and have wanted to be
a teacher since I was 11 years old.
Every day when I see those smiling faces, I am reminded of why I became
a teacher. My tears, thoughts, and
prayers go to those families and friends affected in this tragedy. I hope each of you have held your children a
little bit tighter tonight. You are
wonderful parents and I am so lucky to have your child in my class. I truly would like to thank you for
everything that you do.
