It was a very fun week!
It was a very long week, but fun.
It is always long right before a holiday.
And the kids were wonderful for me all week.
I always look forward to seeing them because they make me smile, even when I am having a rough day!
I love being a teacher!
Unfortunately, I (along with 2 other kids) got sick on Wednesday night and on to Thursday, but felt MUCH better on Friday. I got a sub for Thursday afternoon, and went home and literally (and I mean...literally) slept until I had to wake up the next morning. I was STARVING when I woke up!
In reading we learned about s clusters.
In math we learned how to add 2 to a number.
We are still struggling with this, so if you have extra time at home, all of the kids could use some help with this!
We also had lots of time for fun projects to get us ready for Christmas next week.
During story time, we read this fun story!
After we read the story, the kids had to write about what they would do if Santa was stuck in their chimney. They all turned out SO cute! We are getting some pretty good writers in our class. ;)
We also got to read this fun story this week during story time:

I just got this book in the mail and was SO excited to read it to the kids. It was SUCH a great purchase! Absolutely an adorable book that went PERFECT with our writing activity. Each student made a snow globe and wrote, "If I lived in a slow globe...". They are SO cute!!! This is one of my favorite projects of the year. They get to use their imagination, and they all turn out so cute! I even spray paint them with glitter after they are finished to make it look even more like a snow globe.
We also made Santa puppets! These kids seriously crack me up. I can't help but smile when I look at pictures like these. I hope they love school as much as I love having them in my class! :)
I am really looking forward to this week! We will be learning about triple clusters this week. Every afternoon, we will do some sort of "theme" to help us get into the Christmas spirit. On Monday we will have a Grinch day - so don't forget to wear green! Tuesday we will be having a Polar Express book/movie watching party! We will be comparing the book to the movie and writing about how they are alike and different. Wednesday we will be learning about Reindeer, and Thursday we will be doing gingerbread activities! Friday we will have our Christmas program at the school, and our party in the afternoon! It is going to be a fun week and I am looking forward to spending every minute with those kids. Thank you parents for everything that you do. :)
